Product Development Coordinator

Core Focus

This role will consist in actively participating in the product development process through all facets of the product life cycle, including market research, retail stores audits, data analysis, and creation of new product lines. The Product Development Coordinator will collaborate internally with the departments of Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, and assist the Director and the Product Development Team in all needed tasks.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain style and fabric set up and components in PLM and ERP systems
  • Participate in trend research and development for all product lines
  • Create mood boards, trend reports, line and sales presentations, and inspiration pieces for conceptual product presentation
  • Assist in trend and competitive research for complete market landscape, this includes but is not limited to design, construction, color, fabrics, and pricing
  • Execute and distribute monthly trend reports and assist in analysis of product life cycle management
  • Order and return all concept and competitor samples
  • Support seasonal tradeshow, meeting, and sales line sample ordering, tracking, receipt, organization, and shipment
  • Daily communication with vendors sales teams, and cross-functional teams for sample ETA’s and WIP’s. Additionally, track all deliverables.
  • Daily departmental shipping needs and tracking/shipping information and distribution.
  • Maintain and update line changes and distribution to cross-functional teams
  • Prepare meeting presentation and collateral, including documentation, samples, etc.
  • Maintain and update product and approval libraries- garment, fabric, lab dips, shade bands
  • Assist the Director of Merchandising in departmental needs and clerical duties
  • Light travel required for industry tradeshows, focus groups, meetings, and departmental trend research

Required Education and Experience 

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Minimum of AA degree in Product development, fashion design/merchandising, or related fields
  • 3-5 Years in product development, fashion design/merchandising, or related field
  • Must be organized and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication, follow-up and presentation skills with attention to detail
  • Comfortable with presenting in small to large sales meetings and focus groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)- Highly advanced in Excel spreadsheet functions; pivot tables, v-look ups
  • Advanced skills for CAD and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

Receiving Supervisor

Core Focus

The Receiving Supervisor reports to the Director, Operations and has the overall responsibility for monitoring and assisting in all activities in the Receiving Department pertaining to all incoming merchandise. In addition, provides leadership and guidance to all power equipment operators that are involved with loading and unloading of product from trailers.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of item description and counts for all incoming shipments.
  • Ensure accuracy of all UPC numbers for all incoming shipments. 
  • Ensure list of incoming Purchase Orders is run and follow up with Supply Chain Department to ensure “on time” Purchase Orders. 
  • Ensure Goods Received Book and any Adjustments are current and accurate. 
  • Ensure Receiving Clerk is accurately entering everything received on the day it was received. 
  • Ensure all Driver Logs are maintained and filed appropriately 
  • Ensure trucks are unloaded/loaded in a timely manner and maintain detention times to a minimum. 
  • Perform monthly self-audits being performed and address action items.
  • Maintain open channel of communications with Supply Chain Department.
  • Ensure all Safety Policies are being adhered to in department.
  • Physically assist in loading and unloading of the trucks  Ensures friendly, efficient and professional customer service.
  • Reviews reports to determine required changes to meet future needs (i.e., week, month).
  • Partners with management and non-management team to identify root causes for gaps using analyses of historical and future planning data reports.
  • Reviews current or future trends that indicate possible gaps in inbound functions and makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Conducts weekly staffing reviews with Director, Operations and Human Resources to determine appropriate staffing levels for inbound departments.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience in warehouse/production environment
  • Quality control (an eye for detail) required

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year similar experience
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, vendors and buyers. 
  • Computer Literate

    • Daily maintenance including oiling, control lint/dust build up and organize work area.

    • Maintain an error rate of 7% or less per month (damage or over runs).
    • Maintain a production level of 75-90 unit per full day (stitch count driven)***

    • Prepare garments for machine, which includes hooping mechanisms and backing placement to ensure highest possible quality and output.
    • Examine completed work to detect product defects and verify conformance and adjust machinery as necessary to correct quality or efficiency issues.
    • Routine machine maintenance including Daily Oiling and Lint Control using compressed air system and shop vacuum.
    • Position requires the ability and willingness to work on warehouse production floor at all work stations “as needed”.

    • Reconcile collected funds and request wire transfers bi-weekly to factor.
    • Ability to quickly reconcile accounts utilizing various sources of information to determine status of delinquent accounts.
    • Publish Daily Sales Figures to Management
    • Use excel proficiently and quickly.

    Qualifications

    • Accounting experience, required. 2+ years of Accounts Receivable and/or Finance, preferred.
    •  High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred

    •  Work with a 2 to 3 person team, in all positions of printer, take off, and QC to produce quality garments

    • Match paperwork (art/work orders/pick tickets) to production screens & garments at a detailed level
    • Meet established production guidelines for output and ship date compliance
    • QC printed garments in comparison to Style Guide Standards & Production Work Orders

    • Utilize basic PC skills to look up & update orders
    • Maintain neat and safe work area
    • Partner with all production staff to develop ideas to maintain and improve all levels of service and production
